The practical difference is floor space and pace. Dandiya needs paired room and a predictable rhythm, so grounds that schedule it properly build a slower section into the night. A venue that runs continuous high-tempo Garba with a DJ will give you very little genuine Dandiya, whatever the marketing says — which is why the billing on the listing matters.
Look for an earlier start time and a multi-night schedule. Early evening is when the floor is least crowded and the steps are slowest, which is the best window to learn. A multi-night pass also means one awkward first evening does not write off the whole festival for you.
